25th Anniversary Show – Report

The Tracey Walker School of Dancing recently held their 25th Anniversary Charity show at St Mary’s Catholic School in Bishops Stortford in October 2011

This was an amazing sell out showcase from all performers and the best show to date!

The quality and standard of the students was very high, the music choice and variety of performance enjoyed by all the audience, and the colorful costumes and choreography beyond amazing!

Each performance was professionally organized with sound and lighting from Oliver Last and Jo Jones, stage managed by Judy Houghton and Tom Monk.
The chaperones backstage were all parents that kindly volunteered their help by rota across all three performances.
Front of House was slick and controlled well by Simon Copper, Lee Cox, plus parents and family of the Dance School.
Bar / refreshments organized excellently by Chris Gadman with the help from the Great Hallingbury WI
Raffle very well run and organized by Valerie Walker and the Great Hallingbury Village Hall.

Each performance had a guest of Honour:-
Friday Eve: Bishops Stortford Mayor Alan Burton and Wife
Saturday Matinee: Jenny Westmoreland from the CF Trust Charity
Saturday Evening: Diana Freedman and Patricia finnigan from the BATD

A very big thank you to my fantastic and very patient staff and teachers: Louise Howarth, Lyanna Monk, Sally Gilbey and Rebecca Gilbey
A show that has proved there is a vast amount of talent at the Tracey walker School of Dancing and this was portrayed in the best manner and enjoyed by all!

Well done to everyone involved and a cheque has been recently sent off to the CF Trust for £2000

The following are some of the Wonderful Comments We have received:

Dear Tracey,
Just wanted to congratulate you on an amazing show. We absolutely loved it. It was so inclusive to all ages and abilities and yet the standard was really impressive. As a parent with a child new to the school and to dancing it was great to see the range of opportunities available. Thanks so much for your encouragement of our little bunny!
Best wishes
Emily (Harriet Steggall)

Hi Tracey,
I wanted to say that we thought this years show was AMAZING. It was
given Olivia a renewed enthusiasm for dancing which is great. Thank
you so much for all the time, effort and i imagine at times stress to
organise such a brilliant show.
Kind regards
Xenia

Hi Tracey,
Congratulations on a really fantastic show. Gemma and kathryn both had a really great time performing and gained a lot from it in terms of enjoyment and confidence. Thank you for all the hard work that you put into it being such a success.
Many thanks
Nicky Day.

Hi Tracey,
Firstly a massive thanks to Tracey and the whole team for such a super super show. As you know, Jasmine had been at the Graham School of Dance when she was younger, and the show this weekend knocked the spots of theirs! It was so much smoother and more professional, from the flow of the acts, through to the music quality. The performances were longer, better rehearsed, and the whole thing was a proper flowing show, rather than just a bunch of dance routines which happened to being practiced at that time lumped together. The makeup and costumes were so visually impacting too. Clearly a huge amount of work had gone on behind the scenes, and preparation beforehand. This show is a credit to your hard work, enthusiasm and focus on each student during class. Thank you! Jasmine thoroughly enjoyed herself.
Regards,
Alexis Starr

See you later.

HI Tracey
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the show on Saturday. I can see why you are so passionate about the Dance School – every member of the cast seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. It was a pleasure to see them having such a great time.
Thank also for your text – wow that’s fantastic. What would we do without the incredible support of people like you?
I look forward to speaking again soon.
Best regards and huge thank you again
